Following your Dreams when no one Believes in You
From a very young age, we are “socially aware”. We act, react & respond to those around us. We feed off of their energy, the words they say and the way they say them, body language, actions & so much more. Even a young toddler can recognize laughter in response to a silly thing they did, a scolding when a rule has been broken or encouragement for doing the right thing. As we grow, we begin to get self conscious about these things. We can say that we don’t care what other people think until we’re blue in the face, but the fact remains that all of us, to some…

Yes, my Living Room is a Playground; and no, I won’t apologize for it
Yes, my living room is a playground, and No, I won’t apologize for it. As I was cleaning up yesterday’s toys off of the living room floor, early this morning – because I had a few minutes between loads of laundry, an hour or two before the baby wakes up and a little extra energy (Thanks, Red), I thought back to an image I once saw, it was a cartoon image of mother and a young child, both viewing the same exact room, but both with a completely difference perspective. The mother saw chaos, disorganization, mess, disaster and most certainly embarrassment should anyone come knocking on the door unexpectedly. The…

Finding Your Way
We start out life with such hope, curiosity and wonder, not worrying about tomorrow or the troubles it will surely bring. As we grow older, we begin to see things differently. Worries rise up and take the place of hope, trouble steps in and overshadows the joy and we just get so darn busy with the hustle and bustle of life that we forget to how to live (and thrive) in it! Am I speaking to anyone here? Deciding to become the best version of yourself is going to require some hard work, and it won’t be without pain, surely. It’s going to require self discipline, sacrifice and dieing to…

God’s Timing
God’s timing God is so good, even in those moments where we don’t take time to realize it, When pastors say: “God is good all the time, and all the time God is good” they aren’t kidding. I am an off the beaten path type gal, and I enjoy swimming against the popular stream typically, and in being so, it inspires me to also look at things that others do not – more specifically to look at things the way that others do not. I often reflect on the past – a little too often sometimes, to my chagrin – and, while there are some super painful moments that come…

Pro-Life Tiny Home Ministry Vision
So this has been something on my heart in one shape or another for the past decade just about. I’ve always been prolife, and I’ve had this dream/vision of building a bus into an RV to travel the US , and also often of having a homestead/“living off the land”. At first those two ideas seem contrary to one another, and after much internal conflict I realized they are not. My “two” visions, which presently have united into one, enhance one another, they involve one another and like any good marriage they embrace one another. But, it wasn’t until this ministry idea entered my head a few years ago at…

Jonah | The Right Man for the Job
For the past 3 weeks in church, we’ve been talking about Jonah, and if you’ve ever been within 200 yards of a bible teaching church (or within 1,000 yards of a rowdy group of VBS kids) you know the story. God wants Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah is afraid/against the idea so much so that he runs 3,000 miles in the OPPOSITE direction to try and escape. Nowadays we can roll our eyes at this story, because most of us know the scripture in Psalms that reads: “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you…

You may be saying at this point, “what’s up with her ridiculously long blog titles lately?”, and you’d have a valid question. Sometimes, though, a short and sweet title won’t do. I’m writing what comes to me, when it comes to me and as it comes to me, and this was next. It’s actually been a few weeks in the making, so it was due time. So, what do Donald Trump, Lauren Daigle and Pastor Steven Furtick have in common? First, let’s find out what they don’t have in common Donald Trump Like it or not, he’s our 45th – and as of writing this, current – president. As a…

Am I More than Just the Average of Every High and Every Low?
“Am I more than just the average of every high and every low?” More than a ridiculously long blog title, or an offshoot →(for copyright reasons) of a catchy rhyme from Lauren Daigle’s song You Say, this is something I think most – if not all – of us struggle with on a daily basis. It’s something that’s plagued me for awhile, if I’m being honest, and I’ve never been able to put words to it until this morning while making coffee. I didn’t have a great epiphany, there was no image of the savior appearing in my morning toast – no, nothing like that. I just happened to wake…

Overcoming Unhealthy Mentalities
Paradigm Change Over the past few years, I’ve come to the conclusion (slowly) that when it comes to my diet choices I change my mind like my 7 year old daughter changes outfits. I can be swayed as easily as a boat in a hurricane from a simple Netflix documentary, a convincing Pinterest graphic or the latest diet fad synopsis from a friend. All of this, in an effort to seek health, has left me feeling anything but healthy. This quest has filled my mind with opposing thoughts threatening sure disaster “if I eat…” or “if I don’t do…” – it’s madness I tell you, madness! I certainly fit the…
