throwback blog posts from a decade ago 2012 2013 2014 etc

Imagine with me here, it’s 1895, middle of the summer, you’re walking down the street, and you hear a small child crying out. You look around, and quickly spot a house ablaze, with a young boy, who couldn’t be more than 5 or 6, tears running down his cheeks, in the upstairs bedroom window. “Please help me, I don’t want to die!” he manages to choke out between crying and fighting for air. There is a ladder leaning up against the nextdoor shed, more than tall enough to reach the second story window, and rescue the boy. Now imagine if you could know that this boy was Adolf Hitler, and he would grow up to be responsible for the death of more than 6million humans. What would you do? Do you save his life knowing what will happen? Do you look the other way, and let a child die? What if he grew up to be someone different? Someone else? Someone who saved lives, who created a cure for cancer? Someone who could save your life one day?

Let’s come back to modern day. Well, not so far, more like 1933, and the Holocaust, which stems from several greek words, basically meaning Destruction or catastrophie, led by Mr. Adolf Hitler himself. Roughly 6 million Jews were brutally tortured/enslaved/killed for various reasons during this time. An estimated 1-1.5mil of them, being children. Now, as George Santayana once said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” And while this quote is misquoted, paraphrased, and taken out of context on most occasions, it makes a good point and stirs up some truth. “Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.”

Did you learn about the Holocaust when you were in school? Perhaps your parents told you, or you read about it in a book, maybe you watched a documentary on TV, or possibly you didn’t even hear about it until college? Suprisingly enough, there are college grads and fully grown adults who know nothing about this atrocity that took place and scarred our country so deeply, so long ago.

However, while I completely implore you to dig deeper and learn about this pivotal point in our history, that is not why I am coming to you today. There is another type of Genocide happening, right now, in 2012, in our own backyard. Every day, over 3,700 babies are brutally torn apart, burned alive, and thrown in dumpsters or flushed down the sewer, instead of being given a mere 9 months to meet the outside world. These babies are ripped from what used to be considered the safest place on earth (the womb), by the one person who is supposed to protect them, and by people who take an oath to save lives, and who call themselves doctors.

It’s no suprise that there are people on both sides of the fence when it comes to this little hot topic, as no two people think and feel the same way. However, it is suprising that so many people are misinformed, uneducated, and just plain ignorant when it comes to the mass murder of over 1.3million lives every year.

I’m not sure how you grew up, what your parents taught you, which religion you practice, what happened to you in your lifetime, or anything about you. But I do know one thing – you were born. Your mother made a choice to let you live. Rather she kept you, gave you up for adoption, or ‘abandoned’ you at the local firehouse, she decided to give you life, to give you 9 months of time inside of her womb to grow strong enough to come outside and thrive, and grow up. That’s more than these babies are getting, by far. These poor babies haven’t had a single person on this earth love them.

One of the biggest arguments is that it’s a woman’s choice and a woman’s body, but let me tell you something, where that babies body begins, yours ends. Yes, the child is inside of your body, and yes he or she is relying on you to protect and nurture and not cause harm. It is scientifically proven that babies can feel pain as early and possibly before 8 weeks. The heart starts to beat as early as 22 days. By 8 weeks, every organ is also in place, and by 10 weeks they are all functioning. When a baby is approached with a needle or other sharp object in utero, changes in heart rate and fetal movement much like those a newborn would have, suggest that intrauterine manipulations are painful to the baby.

There is plenty more information on abortion available, more than anyone could read in one lifetime. Google or Youtube and watch an abortion performed via ultrasound. I guarentee you won’t be the same. It’s high time that we stop the mass murdering of our future generation, and step up to take a stand against this horrible act against the very core of our human nature. One person needs to step up and speak out to make a difference, that’s where it starts.

I’ll leave you with a quote from Albert Einstein. He said (and I’m paraphrasing) “The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.”
